The MEISSEN Advent wreath
  • A fragrant Advent wreath spreads festive anticipation throughout the house and invites you to enjoy the magic of the Christmas season with family or friends over coffee and cake and to consciously take time for each other.

The custom of the Christmas wreath goes back to the German theologian Johann Hinrich Wichern. In order to sweeten the pre-Christmas season, especially for children, he invented this now pre-Christmas tradition in 1893. The first wreath made of fir greenery with four candles on it was intended to be an enchanting way how long young and old still had to wait until Christmas. Since then, the Advent wreath has become an indispensable part of the pre-Christmas season and is lovingly customised year after year according to one's own wishes and ideas.

Bring the joy of Christmas into your home and let yourself be inspired by our ideas for a festive Advent wreath. In just a few steps, you can create a completely individual arrangement that will enchant everyone.

  • DIY: Create your own MEISSEN Advent wreath

    1. Place moist plugging compound in the centre of your favourite MEISSEN plate and cover it with fresh moss. This will keep the Advent wreath fresh for a long time.

    2. Decorate the plate with long-stemmed flowers, filigree branches and red blossoms according to your taste. We chose Cambria orchids and Asparagales.

    3. Then drape cream-coloured taper candles, for example from the manufactory „Ester & Erik“, in different sizes around your arrangement. This way, they can also be easily replaced if the candles burn for hours over the holidays.

    4. Finally, complete your arrangement with small details made of Meissen porcelain. The various pendants made of bisque porcelain, pinecones and acorns in a glazed version or also in reddish-brown Boettger stoneware are particularly suitable for this. The combination of both creates a lovingly created Advent wreath that will stylishly decorate your dining table.
