MEISSEN opens its 2011
in-house trade fair

21. September 2010

Together with Dr Matthias Rößler, President of the Saxon Federal State Parliament, and the Lord Mayor of Meißen, Mr Olaf Raschke, the Managing Director of the Meissen Manufactory, Dr Christian Kurtzke, yesterday opened the company’s in-house trade fair at Albrechtsburg Castle to the general public.

In his short speech, the Saxon Parliament’s President Dr Rößler stressed the importance of ongoing innovation for both the Manufactory and Saxony as a whole and, during a tour of the premises, he likewise gave his blessing to the heritage company’s strategy of harnessing innovation as a means of adapting to changing market requirements.

Notable examples of how the company is shaping up for the future were cited by Dr Kurtzke as being the new MEISSEN® Style Worlds, first and foremost the youthful new MEISSEN® Black&White Collection, with which the Manufactory aims to position itself as a style pioneer in the sphere of high-quality gifts and interior design accessories. To this end, previously unrelated items have been pooled into new settings that have also been attractively positioned in terms of price. During the Christmas shopping season and in the year ahead it is intended in this way to further build upon the growth already set in train.
