The 16.5 cm tall sculpture - the smallest version of the humorous Buddha figure - was created in 1731 by MEISSEN's master modeler Johann Joachim Kaendler, who also designed both Christian saint figures and various interpretations of the Buddha figure in masterful artistry. Like its other variations, this sculpture is hand-painted as a quintessential work of MEISSEN craftsmanship.
