The Saucer with relief from Boettger stoneware has a special appearance due to its wicker basket of approx. 1736 created by Johann Friedrich Eberlein. Wickerwork was the preferred decorative element in the Rococo period. This "Altoid ornament" is not only the most naturalistic and austere decor, but also typical of Meissens 18th century design. The invention of Boettger stoneware goes back to Johann Friedrich Boettger, who developed the predecessor of Meissen porcelain in 1706.
