Vase with Snowball Blossoms, H 25 cm

Vase with Snowball Blossoms, H 25 cm

The present Limited-Edition Artwork is informed by a mix of contrasting design elements. The vase was formed by Paul Scheurich in 1937 and boasts clean-lined styling of architectural proportions. The square of the vase"s base wanders upwards - the circle acquiring four corners so as to allow the vase to end up square again at its upper rim. The overlaying "Snowball Pattern" is such an eye-catcher that this clever formal configuration appears to take a back seat at first glance. The vase is encrusted with myriad white blossoms; individually applied snowball flowers join with intertwined scrolling gilt foliage to turn the vase into a rapturously enchanting garden. This is an accomplished work of art in its own right. The "Snowball Pattern" was first produced in 1739 by that artistic genius Johann Joachim Kaendler.
