The year 2023 had 365 days, 8,760 hours, 525,600 minutes and 31,556,926 seconds and we spent every moment of it with fantastic products, great events and great people and look forward to reviewing this time with you.
For us, 2023 began with an exotic and sensual rendezvous of melt-in-the-mouth chocolate and exquisite MEISSEN design, proving once again that MEISSEN not only stands for exclusive craftsmanship, but also for modern and aesthetic designs. MEISSEN designed the gift packaging for a special limited edition of Lindt HOCHFEIN pralines, delighting customers throughout Germany. This extraordinary cooperation was crowned by a limited, hand-painted 12-piece MEISSEN® Cosmopolitan service, which was the main prize in the Lindt competition.
With the launch of our "The MEISSEN Zodiac Collection" in the spring, history met the future and we added another outstanding collection to our repertoire of exquisite gift ideas. The 12 new variations of our popular mugs interpret the signs of the zodiac in a very individual way and are the perfect gift for all your favorite people. Give the gift of moments of enjoyment that can be experienced anew every day!
At "Naturresort Schindelbruch" in the southern Harz mountains, the dream of the porcelain castle lives on for a little while and offers people all over the world the opportunity to enjoy the "Maladie de porcelain" in peace and tranquility. The wellness hotel boasts an impressive ensemble of historic and modern buildings with 96 lovingly designed rooms and suites, three restaurants and a 2,500 square meter wellness area. "Schindelbruch meets MEISSEN" is a truly impressive collaboration that allows the magic of MEISSEN to shine in new splendor.

September was all about our annual "MEISSEN in Meißen" event and showed partners, customers and MEISSEN fans the tremendous creative power and creativity of MEISSEN. With unique new products in the "Fine Art" and tableware areas, we brought over 300 years of tradition into the here and now. The Fortune Dragon vase by Chinese designer Zhuoyu Hou took center stage. The porcelain artist took the unusual shape and significance of a Chinese coin as a source of inspiration for the design of her latest work - from a square base, it transforms into a taut belly and finally into a round opening. Hou also remained true to the symbolism of her homeland in the decoration. Surrounded by clouds, an auspicious dragon plays, its gaze fixed on a pearl of fire.
We started the Christmas season with a real bang and a fantastic new product - the first Coffee2Go Mug from MEISSEN! Sustainability has been in our DNA since 1710 and is now getting a very modern face with our new coffee mug. Our Coffee2Go mugs have their origins in our unique "Nova" service shape. This comes with a completely new design language, which was developed from the idea of uncompromisingly capturing the current zeitgeist in both form and feel.
We are ending 2023 with a milestone in the history of the manufactory and celebrated the traditional shaft sinking of our new manufactory-owned mine in Seilitz on December 4, 2023. The smallest mine in Europe, operated by just two miners, is characterized in particular by the unsurpassed high quality of the kaolin it contains. The porcelain clay contains no impurities of iron oxide or titanium oxide, so that no grey, yellow or blue tint is visible in the end product. The unsurpassed purity of the kaolin from the Seilitz mine gives the finished porcelain the strikingly radiant white that characterizes MEISSEN.
An exciting and eventful year lies behind us and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated artisans and loyal MEISSEN fans who share our passion for unsurpassed craftsmanship! We warmly welcome all enthusiasts who have discovered MEISSEN this year to the MEISSEN family - look forward to the many highlights that await you in 2024! We can already reveal the first highlight: From April 26-27, the porcelain manufactory will open its doors again and invite you behind the scenes.
