Exclusive Collection Large Sculpture Swan

Over the centuries, the swan motif has inspired generations of MEISSEN artists, evolving from an ornamental element into a sculptural form in its own right. The swan sculpture created in 2016 by master modeler Jörg Danielczyk pays tribute to this remarkable legacy. Danielczyk, widely regarded as a worthy successor to Johann Joachim Kaendler, continues the tradition of outstanding sculptural art while simultaneously opening up new dimensions in the art of porcelain. In this sculpture, he depicts the swan in a moment of serene movement. The elegantly curved neck, the finely modeled plumage, and the balanced silhouette testify to an extraordinary understanding of form and proportion. In designing this large-scale sculpture, Jörg Danielczyk naturally had to do justice not only to artistic standards but also to the unique characteristics of porcelain as a material. The swan consists of 130 individually modeled parts, which are assembled with the utmost precision by experienced modelers. Created as a sculptural complement to the famous Swan Service, the work extends its legacy beyond the set table.
