Meissen animal sculpture encompasses the entire spectrum of artistic motifs and forms of expression as they were preserved and passed on within the manufactory over 300 years. Esser modeled the "Rooster Group" figure around 1925 as part of the "Reinecke Fox" essay. The limited edition figurine is made of 40 individual parts and in order to maintain the straight posture of the bird even after firing, various supports are necessary - a process that requires the highest artistic skill and craftsmanship from the modeling of the mold to its firing and is an example of the extraordinary craftsmanship of MEISSEN's employees.
