Waves Relief Egg Cup Set

The white "Wellenspiel Relief" egg cup set beautifully combines traditional Meissen design elements with a contemporary, refined aesthetic. It draws on the manufactory's signature elegance and craftsmanship while reinterpreting these qualities in a distinctly modern way.

A gentle interplay of flowing wave lines embraces each individual porcelain piece. Like the surface of a lake lightly rippled by a passing breeze, a delicately modeled relief animates the luminous white surfaces. The sculpted lines lend the porcelain a sense of movement and vitality while preserving its calm, sophisticated presence. Meissen sculptor Jörg Danielczyk found inspiration for this sensitive linear structure during an early morning fishing trip, when the natural rippling of the water sparked the idea for the distinctive relief pattern. The "Wellenspiel" form itself was developed between 1993 and 1996 and was designed by Meissen artist Sabine Wachs. The egg cup set thus unites close observation of nature, artistic vision, and masterful handcraftsmanship in a striking example of contemporary Meissen porcelain design.
