Prof. Werner celebrates the wondrous breadth and wealth of Nature in a mini-series comprising a wall picture and vase entitled "Fish Flirt in Turquoise". These works of art, painted in his usual inimitably jolly style, were inspired by photographs from a giant aquarium in the Klimahaus in Bremerhaven. With their pursed lips and the smiles on their fishy faces, these cute fanciful creatures exude that sense of gay abandon so typical of Werner. Viktoria Streichert decorated the turquoise ground of her wall picture with what is known as "Limoges painting". It involves applying layer after layer of white paint to the porcelain.
