It is the material with which the over 300-year success story of highly esteemed craftsmanship from MEISSEN® began: "Jasper porcelain", as Johann Friedrich Böttger (1682-1719) himself named the red-brown material, which he discovered in 1706, just two years before the invention of white porcelain, after lengthy experimentation. Even in the early years, Böttger's brown material was hand-painted with fine gold painting, as on this reissued box. In the early 1980s, it was developed in the style of Böttger's period molds.
