description
Made from fine MEISSEN porcelain, the "Fruchtspiele" bowl combines two artistic worlds: naturalistic fruit painting, which has been cultivated since the 18th century, and modern graphic forms of expression.
Naturalistic fruit painting developed into an independent art form at MEISSEN during the Enlightenment. Inspired by botanical copperplate engravings, detailed depictions of local fruits were created that are as impressive for their precision as they are for their artistic exaggeration. The bowl features ripe cherries that appear vivid and lifelike thanks to their bright colors and fine brushstrokes.
Abstract, cubist-style shapes, executed in gold, provide a deliberate contrast. Individual sections are highlighted in color, while others are deliberately left out - creating an exciting interplay between abundance and reduction, between tradition and modernity.
The decoration was masterfully executed by Amelie Kuder. With a sure sense of composition and the finest brushwork, she lends the fruits their naturalistic liveliness and at the same time translates the graphic elements into exciting accents.
The "Fruchtspiele" bowl thus becomes an exclusive collector's item - limited to 25 pieces - and an impressive expression of the creative dialogue between past and present that highlights the innovative power of MEISSEN porcelain.
