Painting tells us an oriental fairy tale from "One Thousand and One Nights". Prof. Heinz Werner (1928-2019) repeatedly turned to the world of fairy tales and theater. In his more than 50 years of work for the Meissen manufactory, the internationally renowned porcelain painter created an extensive oeuvre of numerous pictures and over a hundred decors. When the first ideas for "1001 Nights" matured in 1966, he had no idea that it would develop into one of his most successful designs. And like every major Meissen decor range, it is constantly evolving, changing, shining in ever new colors and constellations, like this scene of the Kidnapping. These are colorful scenes full of fantasy and joie de vivre, painted with light brushstrokes that are characterized by their subtle cheerfulness and lightness.
