Limited Edition Snail Box Wildflowers

This exceptional box by Emil Börner combines traditional porcelain painting with a contemporary reinterpretation of historical decorative motifs. Its design is based on the graphic meadow-flower décor. The fresh green ground is applied using a meticulous stippling technique. Against this luminous background, accomplished Indian-style painter Nicole Drigalla draws the floral motif with a steel pen in shades of red, black, brown, and purple. The blossoms, leaves, and tendrils are then coloured by hand and refined with subtle tonal transitions. Delicate gold accents lend the painting an additional touch of refinement. Particularly captivating is the continuous, enclosed wreath of flowers encircling the lower section. Its artistically composed fantasy blossoms evoke cornflowers, bellflowers, carnations, wild roses, buttercups, and butterfly bush. Rather than pursuing botanical precision, the design seeks to capture the poetic atmosphere of a summer meadow in bloom. The organically shaped snail finial, the fresh green ground, the vibrant floral colours, and the delicate gold accents unite in a harmonious overall composition. In this way, the box brings together masterful craftsmanship, historical inspiration, and a distinctive artistic signature.
