Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775) is considered by many to be the father of figurative sculpture by MEISSEN®. His figures are the most sought-after ever produced in any period. The allegorical nature of these extraordinary works of art, rural life as idealized representations of the seasons are one of the typical motifs of the Rococo period. The sculpture of little Bacchus shows us the joys of autumn.
