Basing her design on an older study in painting, porcelain artist Anett Helbig combines open rose-heads with auricula and, in painting roses, takes up a theme that has figured throughout the 300 years and more the Manufactory has been in operation. Her scheme, though, is almost akin to a coloured photograph in which the delicate blooms unfold their full romantic charm. Their restrained chromaticism complements the contemporary shape to perfection. Moreover, a sumptuous platinum ground and the vase's innovative division into dual moods of blue and green impart a special touch to this art object.
