Limited Edition Vase Swallows and Magnolias

This exceptional stone vase combines the lightness of nature with masterful porcelain painting. Three elegant swallows circle delicate magnolia blossoms, lending the composition a lively sense of movement. The swallows were first rendered by Laura Neuhahn in fine penwork and then meticulously painted by hand in colour. The magnolias were likewise initially created as delicate brush drawings before being filled in with soft, restrained shades. The intentionally subtle blossoms provide a harmonious counterpoint, allowing the graceful swallows to take centre stage. A flowing band of gold, applied entirely by hand, connects the individual motifs and follows the vase's organic form. After firing, the gold was carefully shaded with a fine sepia tone, giving it exceptional depth and a sculptural quality. The interplay of intricate pen and brush drawing, the finest brush painting and refined gold decoration lends this vase an unmistakable elegance. It is an impressive example of the exceptional artistry of Meissen porcelain painting, combining traditional craftsmanship with a timeless, contemporary design language.
