Limited Edition Vase Fawn in grasses

This exceptional vase combines masterful porcelain artistry with one of the most sophisticated historic decorative techniques in European porcelain painting: the Pâte-sur-Pâte technique.

Through the romantic motif of a small fawn, created by porcelain painter Peggy Hauk, the vase acquires a poetic and timeless elegance. The delicately rendered animal on the soft green ground conveys tranquility, natural beauty, and the quiet harmony of nature. On the reverse side, finely painted mushrooms complete the composition and further emphasize the natural character of the décor.

In the traditional Pâte-sur-Pâte technique, liquid white porcelain slip is carefully applied by hand onto the colored background layer by layer with a fine brush. Up to 30 individual layers may be required, each one needing to dry before the next can be added. This elaborate process creates a subtle relief effect of remarkable depth, delicacy, and translucency.

This highly demanding artistic technique requires exceptional precision, patience, and years of experience. Today, apart from the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, hardly any renowned manufacturer is known to still preserve and master Pâte-sur-Pâte painting at this level of craftsmanship.
