The "Bamboo Pot" is an original design from the early 18th century and exceptional example of the Baroque chinoiserie style. Bamboo - the central motif - runs through the piece in both sculptural and painted details. For the reissue as part of the "Limited Edition 2019" collection, a historically inspired yet newly composed design has been created based on drawings by Johann Gregorius Höroldt. The drawings are part of the comprehensive collection of Höroldt's sketches, the Schulz Codex - a seminal work of the European chinoiserie style. Applied with sepia paint, the Chinese motifs are juxtaposed with the shape of the pot as well as with the numerous gold accents and etchings that accentuate the sculptural details of the piece.
