The "Pomeranian with Ball" from the year 1906 comes from the artist Erich Hösel. The true-to-detail decoration of the Pomeranian with ball creates a naturalistic representation of the animal sculpture. At the beginning of the 20th century, animal sculpture experienced a renaissance in Meissen porcelain. It was a special honour and inspiration to renowned sculptors of the Art Nouveau period to design exclusive animal figurines for Europe's oldest porcelain manufactory and to deal with a great tradition.
