The animal figure "Badger Dog" by the sculptor Otto Jarl (1904) testifies to exceptional craftsmanship, excellent powers of observation and deep understanding of typical animal behavior. With much love and devotion to the craft detailed hand-painted, the enchanting work of art is created in filigree handwork. The self-confident dog seems almost alive. At the beginning of the 20th century, animal sculpture experienced a renaissance in MEISSEN^® porcelain. Renowned sculptors of the Art Nouveau period were particularly honored and inspired to create exclusive animal figures for Europe's oldest porcelain manufactory and to engage with a great tradition.
