The historical figurine of a lioness from 1922 by the Berlin animal sculptor August Gaul represents its abstract formal language, which captures the essence of the animal in broken transparency and almost provocative massiveness. In this way MEISSEN builds bridges between great sculpture and sophisticated interior aesthetics. The model of the lioness was first formed in 1922/23 - a homage of Max Esser to his great teacher Gaul, whose unmistakable style lives on in our models.
