The "Key Welcome" is one of the earliest "key experiences" of the Meissen manufactory and was produced by Johann Jakob Irminger, one of the pioneers of porcelain design. Augustus the Strong is said to have drunk from the legendary porcelain bowl during a visit to Albrechtsburg Meissen - according to the entry in the guest book from 1714. The key is decorated with the Albrechtsburg castle, the first production site of Meissen porcelain from 1710 to 1864, as well as with the city view of Meissen. The painting was based on a copper engraving by the artist Alexander Fiele from around 1726. Limited to 75 pieces.
