In the West as in the Far East, the lion with its luxuriant mane and muscular stature stands for strength and power. Even at MEISSEN®, one could not escape its powerful charisma. Thus, the famous modeller Johann Joachim Kaendler created a sculpture of the king of beasts - not as an overpowering ruler, however, but in the figure of a playful dog. Hand-painted in modern colors with countless curls in real gold and platinum, Kaendler's lion has been given new life: a precious guardian figure of happiness. The sculpture, hand-painted, is limited to 50 pieces.
