description
Willy Münch-Khe created the figurine of Archivarius Lindhorst in 1927. It is one of several figurines the artist created after literary models, but he considered this one his masterpiece. The archivist is from the novella 'The Golden Pot' by E.T.A. Hoffmann, a specialist for the uncanny and eerie. There, the odd fellow with his grey parakeet is described quite precisely. The Meissen artists followed the text to the letter when they redecorated the figure - which hitherto had existed only in white porcelain or painted differently exclusively for the Limited MEISSEN Artworks.
