The sculpture group "Europe and America" by Friedrich Elias Meyer was created around 1755 and is an expression of exceptional craftsmanship 's. On sweeping rocailles the figure of Europe meets the figure of America. Lively the putti stretch out the attributes of their continent: Europe shows the orb. America rides on a crocodile and carries bow and arrow. Emphasized by the skillfully colored staffage, which is lovingly hand-painted, the gestures and facial expressions of the sculpture figures, each in charming tension with the opposite, seem lively and natural. The wonderful handicraft, hand-painted, is limited to 50 pieces.
