description
A limited edition work of art, for the first time in Meissen porcelain - The molding of the clock "Degenfechter" celebrates its premiere in the limited edition masterpieces 2020, because it was only in 2017 that manufacturists discovered the original plaster model of the clock after Alexander Struck in the mold archive. A hand-painted decorated work of art, which combines aesthetics and functionality in the usual lightness of other figures of Struck. The two fencers in front of the porcelain clock hold their rapiers crossed in a particularly striking manner, forming the famous trademark of the Meissen manufactory. The depiction is complemented by two hand-painted scenes by 17th century Lorraine draftsman Jacques Callot on the front and back of the clock in subtle reddish brown. With stooped posture, rapiers crossed in athletic competition, Struck makes the tension of the two young fencers almost palpable to the viewer. If you are interested in this work of art, please send us an inquiry. Hand-painted and limited, this clock is a real treasure among Meissen's masterpieces.
