Adam Friedrich von Löwenfinck (1714-1754) is regarded as the most gifted pupil of Johann Gregorius Höroldt and one of the few porcelain painters to develop a truly distinctive artistic style. His imaginative overglaze decorations, featuring chinoiseries and mythical creatures, possess an almost graphic quality created through his characteristic approach to contouring.

In "Secret Garden", Lena Hensel offers a glimpse into Löwenfinck's early work, bringing his enchanted gardens and fantastical creatures into a contemporary decorative language. She reinterprets his artistic vision as a composition of striking contrasts, combining a deep cobalt-blue ground with radiant yellow floral motifs. Löwenfinck's characteristic mythical creatures, painted in gold, appear hidden among blossoms and foliage in warm shades of yellow, creating a fantastical garden in which new details continually reveal themselves.

An expert in porcelain colours and decorative development, Lena Hensel collects colours, patterns and techniques from a wide range of artistic traditions and explores their possibilities in her studio. As part of the manufactory's young creative team, she continues to expand the expressive potential of colour beyond classical decoration, transforming forms shaped by more than 300 years of Meissen history into contemporary works of art.
