Limited Masterworks Wall painting, Leopardess by the Water

In 1994, Meissen porcelain painter Detlef Ritter traveled to Africa for the first time. Inspired by the continent's extraordinary riot of colors, he began work in 2019 on his mural series "Animals of Africa," a new and distinctive decorative motif in the history of the Meissen Manufactory. Following the motifs "Wild Elephants" and "Lion," the artist continues the series with "Leopardess by the Water." With his expressive and richly detailed depictions, Ritter dedicates these wall panels to the "Big Five" and creates impressive visual tributes to the wild animals of Africa.

The individual porcelain panels are, of course, painstakingly hand-painted, a process that demands exceptional technical and artistic skill on this demanding material. Each composition is created through precise painting techniques, years of experience, and a deep understanding of color and surface, resulting in a work of great individuality and expressiveness.
