The figure "Pagoda Child", limited edition, by Johann Joachim Kaendler from 1750 is a work of art modeled in a lively pose and equipped with refined details. Lifting one foot, the sculpture is about to take the next step. As it does so, the drapery of the loose robe, decorated with rich Indian floral painting, follows the walking motion, and the figure nods its head in response. A delicate cabbage leaf serves as a hat for the work of art, and the delicate face painted with fine brushstrokes bears childlike features despite all its seriousness. The sculpture is limited to 50 pieces.
