This extraordinary vase was created after a design by Paul Georg Eras and Emmerich Andresen dating from 1895 and embodies the flourishing period of Historicism at the Manufactory MEISSEN. Originally conceived for the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900, it combines opulent form with the highest level of craftsmanship. Each individual flower is meticulously hand-modelled in an elaborate process of applied ornamentation (bossier work), with every petal carefully shaped and attached by hand.
