Limited Masterworks Vase Golden Gourds in a cobalt-blue world

The design combines a vessel shape created in the 18th century with a contemporary decorative composition by designer Zhuoyu Hou, inspired by East Asian visual traditions. Two characteristic forms of expression associated with the MEISSEN manufactory come together: precious matte and burnished gold painting and luminous cobalt blue. The silhouette of the vase recalls the organically grown form of a gourd. Across its surface unfolds a richly layered composition evoking ripeness, growth and abundance. Golden gourds and finely rendered blossoms stand out vividly against the deep blue, while delicate insects are concealed among the cobalt-blue tendrils. This interplay between visible and hidden motifs lends the composition a distinctive sense of vitality. The design captures the atmosphere of a bountiful harvest season. Animated insects, delicate overglaze flowers and radiant gold motifs form a harmonious interplay of close observation of nature, symbolism and decorative splendour. At the same time, the contrast between the cool, spatial depth of the cobalt blue and the warm brilliance of the gold creates an exceptional visual richness.
