Limited Masterworks Basket Vase Blossom Dreams

This 46-centimetre-tall vase combines a historic Meissen basket vase form dating from 1753 with a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional floral sculpture. Its finely worked basketweave relief extends across the entire body, lending the vessel exceptional elegance and lightness. Against the pure white porcelain, the delicate structure is revealed particularly beautifully as the light changes.

As part of the "Blossom Project," the historic form has been reimagined with an elaborate floral decoration applied entirely by hand. The project brings the highly skilled art of assembling porcelain elements and applying sculptural ornamentation into the present, demonstrating how traditional techniques remain alive through new creative applications. Numerous small Snowball Blossoms cluster around the shoulder and neck of the vase to form an organic composition. Individual flowers modelled freely by hand add movement and character. Towards the lower section, the dense floral decoration gradually disperses, revealing the delicate basketweave relief beneath. Subtle gold accents in the flower centres and on selected details create precious points of light without detracting from the restrained elegance of the white porcelain.

The "Blossom Project" is less a new collection than a new interpretation of historic craftsmanship-proof that mastery is preserved not through repetition alone, but through a distinctive response to the present.
