The "Figurine Group Asia and Africa" by Friedrich Elias Meyer was founded around 1755. Asia and Africa meet on lively rocailles. The putti are vividly stretching out the attributes of their continent: Asia sits with the crescent moon in its hand on the back of a lion and Africa has adorned itself with elephant teeth. Emphasized by the skilful coloured staffage, the gestures and facial expressions of the figures, each in charming tension to the other, appear lively and natural. Limited to 50 pieces.
