This wonderful piece unites two great artists of the Meissen Art Nouveau. Both Emil Paul Börner and Willi Münch-Khe were masters of the new style in the two professions of sculpture and illustration. While Börner often brought clarity to form and profoundly interpreted everything floral in his painting, Münch-Khe wanted to open the world to a new future with irony and imagination. His "Wonderful birds" throw off all the rigour of the "old world". Both artists are very independent in their work, but their search for a new aesthetic united them in their work for MEISSEN - a new style found its way into the manufactory.
