Limited Masterworks Vase with Snowball Blossoms

The "snowball decor" was created in 1739 by master modeler Kaendler by order of Augustus the Strong, who had the delicate work of art in mind as a gift of love. The applied flower snowballs and the tendril of leaves hand-painted in fine gold add another dimension to the vase. The modern form, conceived in 1937 by Paul Scheurich for Interior Design, provides a beautiful stage for the décor. Each flower is individually sculpted and hand-painted onto the surface of the limited edition vase. As they partially overlap, a natural texture is created - as if the dainty blossoms had just fallen gently onto the porcelain.
