Limited Masterworks Beethoven Tea Can

Created to mark the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death, this extraordinary porcelain box was designed by the MEISSEN artist Lidija Schrenk. With great sensitivity, she combines iconic motifs from the composer's life and work to create a multifaceted artistic portrait. At the centre is Beethoven's distinctive likeness, executed for the first time using a newly developed gold technique. Two different types of gold are combined: the motif is first applied in bright gold and fired, after which fine accents and highlights are added by hand in powdered gold. This creates an exceptional sense of depth, lending the portrait vitality and brilliance. The other sides of the box feature key elements from Beethoven's creative world. Musical notation and sketches evoke his compositional process. The inscription "Cinquième Symphonie" pays tribute to the celebrated Fifth Symphony, while a scroll symbolises the recording of musical ideas. The piano refers to Beethoven's most important working instrument, on which numerous sonatas, concertos and chamber works were composed. A delicately painted rose adds a poetic note and represents the emotional depth of his music. On the lid, musical notation in platinum and a sculptural rose finial unite music and art in perfect harmony. The result is an exceptional collector's piece that impressively combines traditional craftsmanship, innovative design and Beethoven's timeless significance.
