The figurine "Donkey", hand-painted and limited, by MEISSEN® sculptor Max Esser from the 1920s shows a lying donkey. Esser's exceptional craftsmanship finds expression in the richly detailed design. Grief-stricken at being only a workhorse, the donkey with downcast eyes rests its heavy head on its bent front leg. The figure is so expressively designed that the viewer feels with him. For the Limited Masterpieces Edition, the sculpture has been reissued with a gold-rimmed base. Fantastic craftsmanship. The sculpture, hand-painted, is limited to 25 pieces.
